Management by Objectives
For customers who want to use the new appraisal functionality of MbO but the old appraisal system for training and participant appraisal in TEM:
For the HAP00 REPLA switch only A or blank are recommended settings. With blank the SAP system uses the subcomponent Appraisal systems, with A it replaces this subcomponent with Management by Objectives (MbO) and Appraisals and affects the Personnel Development, the Training and Event Management (TEM) components and SAP Learning Solution (LSO).
If you want to use MbO and LSO you would have to set the switch to A. Please don’t use the settings X or T anymore because they are obsolete. Generally you have to replace both the old personnel and training appraisal system through MbO.
If you want to use MbO functionality only for personnel appraisal and stay with the old appraisal system for TEM (e.g. for training appraisal or participant appraisal) you have to possibilities:
- Leave the switch to blank and use the new transactions of MbO directly. These transactions are not part of the menu but you can add them to the favorites’ list or add them to the user menu via role maintenance. MbO transactions are:
PHAP_ADMIN_PA PHAP_CHANGE_PA PHAP_CREATE_PA PHAP_PREPARE_PA PHAP_SEARCH_PA PHAP_CATALOG_PA In TEM you are able to use the old appraisal functionality.
- Switch to A and do some programming in the BAdI implementation HRPDV00APPRAISAL0000 as follows: Start transaction SE19 BAdI Builder. The BAdI HRPDV00APPRAISAL0000 is already implemented by the same name. In this implementation you have to check the start transaction by sy-tcode after the call of function module HRHAP_PA_NEW_SYSTEM_ACTIVE . For example: If its transaction PSV1 (Attendance Menu) and PSV2 (Business Event Menu) from old TEM you have to check these transactions in the BAdI implementation. In this way you can still call and use the old appraisal system although the customizing settings are different. Without this kind of implementation you will not be able to use the old appraisal system if the switch is not blank.
We recommend using the second way because you can be sure that all appraisal transactions and functionality (except TEM) use the new appraisal system.
