Dynamic selection screen variant

Some reports are executed regularly, e.g. every first day of month. You don’t need to change the selection variant every time or again enter the date if you use selection variables for dynamic date calculation.

Step by step instruction to create a dynamic selection screen variant:

1. Execute any report, e.g. Employee list (RPLMIT00).
2. Fill all necessary selection fields except for the date fields.
3. Press the save button.
4. At screen Variant Attributes you find a table with objects for selection screen. Choose the line with the date field you want to be calculated dynamically. In column Selection Variable you enter D for Dynamic date calculation.
5. In column Name of Variable you choose how the date should be calculated (see figure 1).
6. Enter a Variant name and save the variant. From now on the date will be dynamically calculated if you execute the report using this variant.
