When is Training and Event Management (TEM) going to be replaced by Learning Solution (LSO)?

Within the transition process, replacement of “old” modules has already taken place in the following segments:

  • from Recruitment to E-Recruiting
  • from TEM to LSO
  • from Manager’s Desktop to portal based Manager Self Service (MSS)
  • from Employee Self Service (ESS) with Internet Transaction Server (IST) to portal based ESS
  • from Appraisal Systems to Performance Management
  • from Succession Planning as part of HCM to Succession Planning within Talent Management
  • from infotypes 2005 (Overtime) and 0005/0083 (Leave Entitlement/ Leave Entitlement Compensation) to infotypes 2002 (Attendances) und 2006/0416 (Absence Quotas/Time Quota Compensation)

As already mentioned in note 953254, SAP generally recommends the new modules for any new implementation. Only these will be continuously updated and adapted to new requirements by SAP. As far as the “old” modules are concerned, maintenance is guaranteed; namely for as long as ERP2005 (now ECC 6.0) is generally guaranteed. As of today, there is no notification of any discontinuation of ECC 6.0 maintenance.
